In 1996, using a 1966 Ford pick-up, Tom Moen, Jr. and a fellow
ironworker founded Moen Steel Erection and began providing steel
construction services to a wide variety of area businesses.
Within six months, the Omaha-based construction business grew rapidly
and hired 10 more employees. In December 1998, Moen Steel founded
Heartland Crane Services, adding a crane rental fleet to its operation.
Heartland specializes in crane rental services, indoor and outdoor
storage, machinery moving, plant maintenance and steel erection.
Moen Steel's most recent expansion occurred in 2003, with the
creation of All American Rigging (AAR). AAR specializes in heavy
equipment moving, tank transport and placement, custom rigging
and material-handling projects.
Together, the three companies now employ nearly 90 workers.
Moen Steel Erection has been awarded "Advanced Certified Erector"
status by the American Institute of Steel Construction, AISC. Along with
its affiliated companies, Moen Steel continues to grow and bring trusted
service and
quality construction to the Midwest.
